In seeing artist, Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night painting, and hearing song writer, Don McClean's “Vincent,” I am immediately taken into a much more dimly lit, but breathtakingly beautiful path.
I marvel both, at what I see and hear.
Sitting with both artists, and what they have brought forth in their giftings.
On one hand, I see a soul both SEEing and crying out…for the “Beautiful” in life.
To touch it, taste it, feel it, to be enveloped by it… and yet …it's something he cannot quite make a part of himself…. To find that peace his soul has sought after. Yet, so much beauty came from his paintings, while the world dismissed and discarded his heart.
Until?
He was gone.
On the other hand, I Hear a sound.
A song, from another artist.
A musician, who both saw and heard the painter's Voice through his brush strokes.
This musician played the Song of the Painter's heart and Life!
I ponder the thought… if Vincent would have graced our world a little longer, and had another one heard his Heart sooner, would he still be?
We will never know.
But, my friends… let us appreciate the incredible beauty of each one in front of us.
For every Flower truly has, in one way or another,
A Beautiful Fragrance all their own.
